A Message From Mr. Visca
| Dear Ambuehl Parents and Community Members, I am pleased to be the principal of Ambuehl Elementary School in San Juan Capistrano. Please review Ambuehl's website on a regular basis for updated school information 24/7, from upcoming holidays to school news and events. School website information is typically updated on a weekly basis. (I enjoy being Ambuehl's webmaster. It’s my “release” at the end of a busy, but fun, week at school!) To tell you a little about myself, I have been with the Capistrano Unified School District (CUSD) since 1986. I have been a teacher at Crown Valley Elementary School in Laguna Niguel, Benedict Elementary School in San Clemente, and San Juan Elementary School in San Juan Capistrano. After earning my Masters Degree in Educational Administration and California Administrative Credential, I became an assistant principal at San Juan Elementary School for two years and Bergeson Elementary School in Laguna Niguel for another two years. When I was hired as a principal in CUSD, I had the honor to be the first principal at Bathgate Elementary School in Mission Viejo (Go Blazers!). After spending four years as the principal at Bathgate Elementary School, I was thrilled to be named the principal at Wood Canyon Elementary School in Aliso Viejo and remained there for another four years (Go Comets!). I was then selected to be the principal at Moulton Elementary School in Laguna Niguel and had the privilege to be their principal for five years (Go Hawks!). I enjoy being an elementary principal and setting a fun tone at the school site. This translates to students looking forward to school each day and being eager to learn. (I basically look for any “excuse” to dress up as Elvis or a cowboy, or to wear a tuxedo.) Can I brag to my “web readers” for a moment? I have received various awards over the years for my dedication in the school district and local community. For example, I was presented with the Beta Foster Care “Community Service Award.” Beta Foster Care is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency focused on providing private foster family placement for children who have been removed from their parents’ custody due to abuse and neglect. I also received the Toastmaster’s “International Communication and Leadership Award.” Past recipients of this award have included baseball legend Tommy Lasorda and Olympic gold medalist Peter Vidmar. In addition, I have received the Laguna Niguel Lions Club “President Award” and the PTA “Continuation Service Award” in 2007. On a personal note, I grew up in Huntington Beach, California. I have been married to my wife for over 20 years, and have 3 children. My hobbies include surfing and cartooning. It’s also interesting to note that my father and mother-in-law, along with some uncles and aunts are retired teachers. Well, that sums up my life in less than 500 words. Thanks again for checking out Ambuehl’s website. This a great place for learning! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions throughout the school year. Also, have a “Soaring Eagle Day!” Sincerely, |
